Electric Lady Lab biography
Electric Lady Lab is a Danish electro-pop duo consisting of producer and songwriter Martin Beech Pedersen and vocalist Stine Hjelm Jacobsen. They released their debut album, Flash! on 7 January 2011.
Electric Lady Lab was formed in March 2009. Martin was formerly a part of popduoen The Loft , and Stine has a history in the indie pop band NOW.
They have known each other since 1990 when they went to high school together in Køge.
Electric Lady Lab debuted with the single "It's Over Now" in november 2009, but got his commercial breakthrough with "You & Me" from June 2010. The samples the theme from "Rhythm Is a Dancer" (1992) with the German eurodance group Snap! . The single has been # 2 on the charts and has sold more than 25,000 copies. In January 2011, issued the single in Germany , Switzerland and Austria.
The first September 2011 released the single "Touch Me", which samples a-ha 's "The Sun Always Shines on TV" (1985). The song is written with Johan Wohlert from The Storm , and uses a-ha lead singer Morten Harkets original vocals and the theme from the song.
Electric Lady Lab has been highlighted as an example of the new wave of modern Danish dance music .
